Carter's field trip to the Apple Orchard

Carter and his class took a field trip to "MN Harvest". An apple orchard in Jordan. I was lucky enough to get the day off to go with. We got to see the peeler, washing and sorting machine and then got to ride in the wagon to pick our own apples. We also got a snack afterward of apple cider and a doughnut made with apples in it. It was delicious. It was a chilly day but we had lots of fun. Carter also got to ride on a school bus for the first time!!

Ali's haircut

I finally cut Ali's bangs. They have been hanging in her eyes for weeks now. I try to put them up in a pony tail but she always pulls it out. So I took the plunge.

Carter's first day of school

Carter started Pre-school this year. He was very excited to start. He had new shoes and was going to be able to take his backpack with him. He also checked out the classroom with all its toys before hand. He was very excited about his locker. The first day came and so did the tears. He was okay when we left the house but once we actually got to school and he knew we were going to be leaving it didn't go so well. He cried a little and eventually we left. He did fine but was sad. He cried for about the first 2 weeks when Jeff dropped him off. One day Jeff picked him up and he said he licked school and couldn't wait to go back. Its been good ever since.

Grandma Camp

Now that I figured out how to get my pictures onto the computer without our cord (because we lost it) I can do some updating.

The Potts family came to visit for the weekend before Grandma camp. We enjoyed a day at the zoo, Chutes and Ladders, playing outside, and putting together puzzles. We had a great weekend and hope to see them again soon.

Carter spent a week with all of his cousins, aunts, and Grandma and Grandpa. He also attened his first Vacation Bible school at Grandma Breeden's church. HE had a great time but was a little intimidated by the 274 other kids there. He brought home great projects everyday and learned now songs and dances. Hopefully next year he will have a little more fun and not be too scared.

Carter turns 4

We celebrated Carter's birthday a couple of different days. We had cake on the 10th of July though, his actual birthday was the 6th. Everyone enjoyed cake and playing with his new gifts. He received a new bike, new bubble toys, and golf clubs (plastic), whac-a-mole, and a number game and cars. He is enjoying all of his new gifts. Thank you to everyone who shared in his special day.

4th of July Weekend

We had a great weekend with lots of fun and family. Jeff unfornatuly had to work all weekend so he was at home. The kids and I traveled to WI to stay with Grandpa and Grandma Breeden for the weekend. We fed the horses and did a little shopping on Friday. Then on Saturday the 4th we traveled up to Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Breeden's for a 4th of July party and to celebrate there 65th wedding aniversary. Fun times were had by all. We missed Jeff and the rest of the family that couldn't be there but survived a near miss (firework) and had a great time. The boys got a chance to catch fireflies for the first time. It was so fun to see the happiness in all of them.

Waterski Days

We spent the past weekend in Lake City at my parents house for waterski days. Everyone had a good time. We took Carter and Ali down to the rides and to play a few games, boy is it ever expensive. We went to the beach where Jeff and Carter went on a boat ride and Ali played in the sand. And on Sunday we went to the parade. There was also a craft show, softball game, waterski show, and of course music and beer. We had a great time and look forward to going back again next year.

Chutes and Ladders

We discovered a new and free park that is not too far from home. It is in the hyland park reserve and is huge. Carter and Ali love it there. There is lots to do and great seating for parents as well. It is close to walking trails, a nature center and even a lake. It is great. We were lucky enough to be able to take Carter and Ali's cousins there a few weeks ago . They had a blast! Here are a few pictures from the park.

Trips to the Zoo

  • We did a little splurging earlier this spring and bought a pass to the MN zoo. We have gone twice so far. We went Easter weekend to see all the farm babies and went this past Saturday. Believe it or not the zoo is a pretty popular place even when it is raining. We enjoyed the indoor trails and rode on the monorail which takes you along one of the outside trails. We had a great time as always.

Being an offical blogger!

So this is the first time I have ever been an offical blogger. I will do my best to keep this as updated as possible. Let me warn you right now that I am not very good at it.

Today was in the 90's so we decided to get the kid's pool out. They of course had a great time in it along with our neighbor Tanner. They got soaked but had a great time!! I'm not sure if more water ended up on the kids or on the patio, either way it was well worth it. They had a great time.

We're looking forward to having a long weekend this weekend and will try to get some pictures uploaded.

Stay tuned for more!!
